  Terms & Conditions

Enrolling for a course at Halifax College constitutes a binding agreement by the student to follow the course schedule and to pay the full fee. It is also binding that all full time students must attend a minimum of 15 hours daytime tutorial per week for the duration of their term.

Students who fail to comply with attendance requirements are subject to disciplinary procedure and in case of persistent failure will be reported to the United Kingdom Border Agency for the appropriate action.

All students are bound to immediately inform Halifax College about any changes in their personal circumstances such as address, telephone, e-mail, next of kin details, immigration status and change of name after marriage.

Students unable to join their courses by the scheduled date must inform the College in writing at least two weeks prior to the starting date of the course. Any applications for deferment of the starting date, which are not received within the specified time, may only be accepted at the discretion of Halifax College.

Unless otherwise stated, the course fees as quoted are for tuition only.

The tuition fees are payable in full before student start studies.

The registration fee is only refundable if an application has not been accepted, or if the course for which an application is made will not run for whatever reason.

Students who are late in starting their course will not be entitled for any refund, or reduction in tuition fees. This also applies where students have been absent from classes for a period of time for whatever reason and where they may not have been attending all the subjects for which they have been enrolled.

If a student is required by the UK Border Agency to leave the UK, because of non or poor attendance at the College or because of any breach of law, tuition fees paid will not be refundable.

Important notices are displayed on the Halifax College main notice board and it is the student’s responsibility to ensure that such notices are read.

All details printed in the catalogue and accompanying documents are correct at the time of printing. Halifax College reserves the right to make changes to the structure and content of courses, including cancellation of classes, if deemed necessary.

Where an application form is signed on behalf of student by his/her sponsor/guardian/representative, these conditions will still apply.

Anyone supplying false information on the application form is liable to suspension from the College.

The College reserves the right to require a student to leave a course at any stage if the student does not fulfill the above requirements: if a students continual presence would, in the opinion of the College, be detrimental to the well-being of staff, other students or to the College in general or if a student does not meet his or her financial obligations. Refund of any fees to an excluded student is wholly at the discretion of the management of the College.

The contractual relationship between a student and the Halifax College shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.

  Refund Policy

Overseas students will not be eligible for a refund once they have used the College’s facilities to obtain a UK Student Visa or other travel permit to study at Halifax College.

UK residents who are not subject to immigration controls may claim a refund of tuition fees paid, less administrative charges of £100.

Students who require a Student Visa to enter the UK will be entitled to a refund of their tuition fees, less administrative charges of £100, if their UK Student Visa application is refused, except in the following circumstances:

a.
The tuition fees paid will not be refunded if the student visa application has been refused due to the non-submission of the listed documentation, as per the CAS statement, or if the student or guardian thereof has withdrawn the required funds which were considered in issuing the CAS statement.
b.
Once a CAS statement has been issued, the tuition fees will not be refunded if the student changes his or her mind about applying for the visa.

If students have requested for the judicial review against the visa refusal, refunds will not be processed until the outcome of the review.

Refunds will not be made to a third party unless Halifax College receives explicit authorization from the applicant to do so. This should be in the form of a signed letter from the applicant specifically authorizing Halifax College to refund the student fees to a given third party. This condition applies regardless of the source of the original fee payment.

In order to verify that refund requests are genuine and to eliminate the possibility of fraud, the College reserves the right to make various security checks on any refund request received, including consultation with the UK Border Agency.

Refund requests may take up to four weeks to process from the date of the receipt of the required documents. While the College recognises that this delay may not be convenient, the security checks made on refund request are designed to ensure the security of any such payment.

If there is conclusive evidence that any of the documents submitted by the applicant or their representative are fraudulent, the tuition fees paid will not be refunded.

The refund request must be made within 6 months from the date of visa refusal.
